The Legally Blonde star turned 45, receiving a ton of of birthday love from fellow A-listers, including her onscreen sister Jennifer Aniston.

Jennifer Aniston Shares Sweet Birthday Message For Onscreen Sister Reese Witherspoon

Apple TV+ series The Morning Show isn’t the first show where Aniston and Witherspoon appear together. The duo goes way back, as Aniston puts it.

The Friends star took to her Instagram stories to celebrate Witherspoon.

“We’ve come a long way,” Aniston captioned a picture of her character Rachel Green and Witherspoon as her sister Jill sitting on the famous Central Perk sofa.

Aniston also added a heart face emoji and the hashtag #thegreensisters for good measure.

The actress reposted a picture from the set of The Morning Show where she is with Witherspoon.

“Happy birthday to this actual ray of sunshine,” Aniston wrote.

She finished her tribute off with a snap of her and Witherspoon behind the scenes at the 2020 Golden Globes, where The Morning Show was nominated for three awards, including Best Actress in a Television Series Drama for both leads.

Aniston And Witherspoon Are Filming ‘The Morning Show’ Season Two

The Morning Show is currently filming its second season. Most of the cast of the first season has been spotted around Los Angeles during production for the upcoming chapter, set to return to our screens later in the year.

Alongside Witherspoon and Aniston, who also serve as executive producers, the cast features Steve Carell in a controversial role, Billy Crudup, Bel Powley, Mark Duplass, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, among others.

Co-produced by Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine, the 2019 show takes a closer look at the world of breakfast news programs in the post #MeToo era.

It zeroes in on a Manhattan morning show that has just been rocked by a sexual misconduct scandal. The series received critical acclaim and earned Aniston a Screen Actors Guild Award for her powerful performance as co-host Alex Levy.

Witherspoon plays Bradley Jackson, a field reporter promoted to co-host. She takes her spot after Levy's on-air partner Mitch Kessler (Carell) is fired amidst sexual misconduct allegations.

AppleTV+ ordered two seasons of the show, for a total of twenty episodes. Production for the second series began at the end of February 2020 but was halted in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
